Our Mission

Nya Birth Collective are a culturally rooted midwifery consultancy, dedicated to tackling current racial disparities in maternity outcomes in the U.K. Through education, advocacy and collaboration we empower healthcare professionals, support families and drive real, systemic change in maternity care.

Specialising in equality, diversity and inclusion strategy, anti-racist midwifery practice, cultural safety training and equitable antenatal education, our work brings specialist education, resources and support to the forefront of maternity care by tackling inequalities at the root.

My name is Keelie, proud founder of Nya Birth Collective and I am a senior, specialised NHS midwife in Equality, Diversity & Inclusion. I am of mixed heritage, of Jamaican descent and deliver my work from a place of expertise and lived experience.

I am an experienced educator in anti-racist clinical practice and culturally safe, equitable care. I facilitate training for the maternity workforce in the above topics and I also deliver the same for student midwives as a guest speaker/lecturer at universities across the U.K.

You may be pregnant and looking for support in pregnancy, you may be a university lecturer in need of support to decolonise your curriculum or you may be from the NHS in need of consultancy for equitable care delivery at you trust. Nya Birth Collective are here to support you, so please take a look at the services we offer and get in touch.
